Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery
120 Coon Hollow Road** New Hope, KY 40051 Established in 1844 St Vincent de Paul Cemetery is a ministry of the Archdiocese of Louisville. We offer the sacred rite of burial to the Catholic community and all of God’s people. We welcome the opportunity to provide your family and loved ones with a beautiful and peaceful resting place. History St Vincent de Paul Cemetery was established in 1844. The original parish church was located on the hill where the crucifix and altar now reside. The present church was built in the community of New Hope in 1887. In 1978, St Vincent de Paul Cemetery Fund, Inc was established to provide a perpetual fund and proper management for the cemetery. Today, the Board of Directors oversees all financial activities and management of the cemetery. The Cemetery Managers oversee the sale of graves, burials, cemetery maps and permanent records. Cemetery News Update -- June 2023 In May 2023, Mary Lee Bray resigned as Treasurer after more than 10 years of service. Thank you, Mary Lee. We welcome Phyllis Masterson to the Board of Trustees and accepting the position of Treasurer. As of June 1, 2023, the cemetery is in the final stages of the plan to re-route the road in front of the cemetery. Nelson County Road Department will control the schedule for completion. We expect construction to begin later this year. On June 15, 2023, the cemetery broke ground for a covered pavilion to be erected near the top of the hill. This should be completed by summer’s end. The final plan for 2023 is to erect a new metal fence when the road and parking area are re-routed. Donations This is a key part of the financial stability of the Cemetery. Please remember the cemetery in your Estate Planning, Memorials at the time of death, and Periodic Donations. Donations can be made payable to: St Vincent de Paul Cemetery Fund, Inc. Please do not leave breakable items at the grave site. This becomes a hazard for other visitors and maintenance staff. Mowing Season is April through October. Items that obstruct the mowers will be removed by Cemetery Management as needed. Christmas Decorations will be removed prior to April 1. Any decoration that becomes unsightly or is blown off the stone will be removed by Cemetery Management. PLEASE help us keep the cemetery beautiful.
